Here's a seven-song EP which leaps above the earnest-but-ordinary torrent of holy hip-hop releases. This rapper is of American Chinese origin and track one, an acapella offering called, appropriately enough, "Intro" contains a sublime section where he raps in mandarin. Hopefully there will be room for more Chinese excursions when his full album is released later this year. In the meantime, there is some exceptional stuff here with both "Glory" and "Nations Under" (the latter featuring OT & D1) displaying Only Won's winning way with rhymes while the production from Maximillian (remember his album on N-Soul a few years back?) is excellent too. A real talent.
