'Stronger Than My Heart'" sees Onehundredhours progress further into the premier league of British "rock worship". After the creative success of the independently-released 'Lift' album (still one of the best British modern worship albums of the last few years in my opinion) and the appetite-whetting 'Cardiphonia' mini-album, 'Stronger Than My Heart' finds Onehundredhours maturing. Trademark rock anthems ("He Is Good", "River Wide") sit alongside atmospheric acoustic-based pieces ("You Are The One", "One Day") to enable the listener to enter a place of reflection and worship. Musically this is top-draw stuff, with the production and mixing team of Paul Burton and Tom Mills doing a typically excellent job in drawing out the strengths of the band, notably the vocal interplay between Tré and Tori Sheppard, as well as the solid rhythm section of Paul Baker and recent recruit Mark Sampson on bass. It's the embellishments to the established Onehundredhours formula that drive this album higher though, such as the choir used on "One Day" and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, whose strings appear on several songs. With a cathartic live show to boot, the attitude of worship inherent in this album is exciting. An album to buy with confidence.
