'Make A Way' is the fourth EP to be released by the band and features six tracks many of which you will be familiar through popular recordings by other artists but all of which were penned by the band's Jason Ingram. One Sonic Society have managed to stamp their own sound on these songs, re-imagining them from the original recordings and making them sound fresh again. Opener "Can't Stop Your Love" is a perfect example, originally recorded as a piano-led ballad by Ben Cantelon and Worship Central, OSS's version opens with drums and bass grooving before synths kick in for a dance infused chorus. Throughout the record the lyrics and the instrumentation blend to create an atmosphere of awe and wonder at who God is with worship being the only response to that revelation. This is best demonstrated on a beautiful piano-led version of All Sons & Daughters' "Great Are You Lord" with the simplicity of the instrumentation allowing the words and vocals to stand out, singing "It's your breath in our lungs/So we pour out our praise. . ." The arrangements strike the right balance providing depth without overly complicating things enabling one to get caught up in reverence of God.
