In the same way that Jaci Velasquez managed to sustain two singing careers simultaneously - one in the "white" Anglo CCM world and one as a Latin artist - former African Children's Choir member Omega seems to be developing parallel careers in both the gospel/CCM and world music arenas. This album is her contribution to the former market. In some ways, it could be considered a "gateway" album; it's very jazz-influenced and predominantly in English with a few familiar songs ("Amazing Grace", "I Worship You"), but there are enough traces of Africa in it to prepare listeners for the full African experience delivered in the follow-up album, "Kiwomera Emmeeme". Vocals and musicianship here are both excellent, and anyone who can put a line as clumsy sounding as "qualified to be a part-taker of the inheritance" into a song and make it work deserves respect.
