Strange one, this. For a short season back in the '90s Nuffsed were one of the UK's most popular folk/pop bands. This independent release was made after their heyday and consisted of Terry and Jackie Mills, along with Kati Rigby, Lee Paul and Matt Butler, with producer Paul Hodson supplying accordion, harmonica, kazoo, bucket and various odds and ends. 'Greet The Dawn' was reviewed in Cross Rhythms magazine by this reviewer in 1999 but with the band falling apart didn't actually get released! Now, 13 years later, it gets a download release thanks to Quiet Audio Productions. One change from their Kingsway albums is that the songwriting here is solely in the hands of Terry and Jackie, apart from one set of lyrics by former bassman Roger Wilcox. The playing is up to the standard one has come to expect (ie, excellent) with the accordion adding punch on some of the mid-tempo songs, and Terry still know how to write a romper-stomper of a tune. The album is good value for money (13 tracks, 48 minutes 25 seconds playing time). Golden memories indeed.
