Poppy Eurodance/electronica indie worship. That's probably how you would describe this pick and mix CD from this up-and-coming German act picked up for UK distribution by Alliance. Now as a pop record, this CD is innovative and well executed. However as a dance record, it's all a bit limp, so I've labelled it as pop in order to appreciate the breadth of different styles here. The best songs are the raucous indie rock sound of "Breathe You", complete with driving rhythm and distorted guitars that are slightly reminiscent of Limp Bizkit, "Miracle", which is a very chilled out pop rap tune with decent rapping (for a pop song), and the rather edgy European dance of "Outsider". On the downside not all the raps are top quality. And though the song lyrics are mostly well written, when they start using twee Christian clichés in songs like "Let's Twist Again" they fail. However, the way they mix these different styles together and still manage to sound reasonably good is a credit to Normal Generation. And when it all fits together, like on the radio friendly "Be", the effect is resoundingly infectious.
