I often like to hear about the story behind the music or get some ideas on where the song came from. The offering before us today has taken such approaches to new heights, or was that to new lengths? A classy looking gift book with a CD containing just the one song "Redeemer". Or was that a CD single with an extensive and thoughtful CD sleeve? Anyway to the contents - after a brief introduction from Nicole we get a combination of lyric, Scripture and prose outlining two of the great stories of redemption in the Bible, those of Job and Ruth, the whole thing carefully woven into references to our ultimate redeemer - Jesus. You may well have heard the song itself before as it features on her self-titled first album and could even be considered the standout track. As a song it is certainly well travelled, featuring in a number of recent compilations. The way to think about it is as a package - read, listen, mediate on our great redeemer and yes it works!
