Nicol was a founding member of the award winning Selah with her brother Todd. Vocally, she sounds a little like Ashley Cleveland, with her breathy, warm vocal delivery. The musical backing, however, would fall into the MOR category. This is Nicol's fourth album as a solo and here she presents her versions of well-known hymns. "Sweet Hour Of Prayer" is accompanied by beautiful piano while "Holy Holy Holy" is a gentle, modern rendition of the classic hymn with a child's voice at the end. However, one or two of the other songs, such as Ira Sankey's "Trust And Obey", did plod along with little in the way of imaginative arrangements or impassioned singing. Having said all that, though, there is still a market for polished versions of the old hymns and on the whole this does compare fairly well with many of the other modern run throughs of hymnody.
