As many CCM followers will know, Nichole has become one of the USA's best selling artists. Now she's written her first album for two years, after the birth of her first child, a little earlier than she and her husband expected. This version of the album is a special edition, with four bonus acoustic tracks. The CD booklet explaining what inspired each song is a masterpiece in itself. This is reflected by there being no weak songs. Having learnt from previous producers such as Charlie Peacock and Mark Hammond, Nichole has bravely played a greater part in production this time, with the help of Jay Joyce and Brad O'Donnell. Openers "Brave" and "What If" are examples of rocky numbers but there are several slower ballads. The track "We Build" is an honest reflection of the heart required to keep a marriage together. Nichole also makes a departure from her own writing to include her ear-catching version of Bob Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody". A powerful and gifted songwriter and an impactful singer, if you don't already know Nichole's work, I strongly suggest that you buy this album.
