Though the publicity blurb highlights the fact that this album was mastered in New York, this is indeed a British album. That doesn't take from the fact that this fine set competes with the best of America's contemporary gospel. Whilst musician and producer Emmanuel Edwards may not be a well known name, he's helped fashion a very cool and funky album. Linslee, who played the bass, also remixed the album, so it's not surprising that it would appeal to the secular R&B market. Nana has a fine voice. Whilst her upbeat songs, like "Witness", which closes the set with a remixed version featuring rapper Karl Nova, are just as overtly gospel, she ministers more powerfully on the ballads, such as "My Prayer" and "Wonderful". All in all, an impressive showcase by a fine gospel diva.
