As well as being senior figures at the International House Of Prayer in Kansas City, both Edwards and Brymer are established writers, performers and worship leaders in their own rights. This EP contains three tracks co-written by the two of them and a fourth ("Harlot") performed spontaneously by Edwards and recorded in the 24/7 Prayer Room at the IHOP. That track in particular is a spine-tingling, deeply moving contemplation on the Bible story of the woman caught in adultery and was recently listed in the Cross Rhythms Spirit Of Rock And Soul series is one of the greatest ever Christian music recordings. Certainly, its 19 minutes 29 seconds duration is a unique listening experience as Misty's passionate and soulful vocal soars across David's elegant cello lines. A track with the capacity to minister deeply. Elsewhere, the collection (33 minutes of music) explores the nature of the love that Jesus has for us, and our response to it. The feel of the music across the piece is reflective, with straight forward compositions provided with sensitive arrangements within a musical setting stripped back to piano, acoustic guitar, cello and violin. Both performers have striking voices which combine excellently, with Edwards' in particular lending itself beautifully to the simple and direct delivery of the meditational and indeed poetic lyrical material. British Christian music followers will be delighted that this 2011 release has finally got UK distribution.
