Collection of the cream of the fine recordings of this phenomenal choir. To start as they mean to go on, the first choice is a superb, fiery performance of the old hymn "Near The Cross", 938 of explosive soloists, and house-wrecking choral gymnastics. This is a huge sound, augmented throughout the album by special guests of the quality of The Jackson Southernairs, Serenity, Rev James Moore, Huey Williams and Rev Milton Biggham, giants of the genre one and all. Malaco really do make a great job of these recordings. Must be quite a technical challenge to capture this gut-wrenching, sweat-soaked sound, but they get there in style. 11 sticks of dynamite here, including the statutory one unreleased track "I Wanna Be Right", comparatively smooth but very acceptable, showing what a fine vocalist the late Frank Williams was. A marvellous collection to cherish as a permanent treasure.
