I disagree with the comment at the very top. Mike obviously has a talent for music which god has given him, and he's using it to the full blates, i.e. basically doing the whole thing himself with a few other people here and there. Robin, you need to LIGHTEN UP!! Surely its a better thing that mike is producing christian music stuff to worship the amazing man upstairs, and surely sound quality comes second?? Isn't it the words and heart that comes first??
If you think this singing is bad...watch X-factor or Britains got talent during auditions...
cd number 3 should be ready by christmas. i've got the first 7 tracks done. a cleaner and more accoustic sound on most and a much lighter feel all over.
am doing some new stuff: check it out on youtube:

Having read teh reveiw and comments and have my own copy of SURRENDER, i am goin to have to say that since listing to the tracks adn teh whole album i am completly hooked and find you sayin the is just isnt good enough..well im my opiion wrong....before i go further i apoligiese for any spelling mistakes....But I even more disagree with you sayin sung what i see has clumsy lyrics..that is my favortie song on the whole album and i found that you ahve to really listen to understand what teh song is about and its a very very nice song.....other songs on the album are very catchy and i think that mikes voice suits the styles of songs in the album. His album shows all emotions and shows the artist to have a great talent and fantastic sense of humour...i would happily matched into HMV and buy this album and cant wait for the 3rd album to be realsesed....Thanks for some great songs mike

Hello Everyone
Felt I had to reply...
Firstly, it appears the people who like this album all know Mike. That's good. Keep encouraging him. But, I listen to a lot of music, and I mean A LOT, especially grassroots Christian music and my honest objective opinion is that this is not good enough.
I do applaud his courage. It's takes guts to do this sort of thing - I know from experience. But I have to counter that with what is an extremely high standard. It is one thing to record songs for your friends and churchmates and another to release them to the public. As soon as you do that, you are up against some real talent!
Sorry if you feel I swallowed a dictionary. When you write reviews, you dont have much space to play with so using one word instead of several is a must!
As for my people skills, if by that you mean being nice all the time, well, I'm sorry! I'm supposed to give my honest opinion. You can disagree if you wish - hey, thats what lifes about!
Anyway, I'm pleased to see this has ignited a debate! Blessings to you Mike. Thanks for having the guts to step out. I know your faith will be rewarded.
Surrender = camp
Nah, it's really is something to be proud of, there aren't enough people like Kelco out there and it's a breath of fresh air when I hear his music.
His 'Strange Things' demo he's recently recorded follows on from his previous effort in the same respect and the bald man continues to show glimpses, and more, of musical ability and an imagination with such a huge span.
Find a singer Mike, and just keep going...I don't care if I'm the only person your music inspires, just keep going.

cheers burt. the strange things cds could be my magnum hopus! :)
A bit harsh Robin. "Pink fluffy cushions" is a hit in our house too!
cheers sarah.
thought you might have something more witty to say ;-)
I think Robin needs to take into account that at least "Mr Kelcey" has the courage to put his words and voice out there. You quite clearly have swallowed a dictionary shame your not so good on the people skills!!! agree with samantha and naomi pink fluffy cushions rocks!!
well....i like it
try it out folks!
follow up cd in the post - very different! :-)
