Much more of a streets hip hop album than his two Reunion outings a while back, you no doubt caught the words of hip hop's articulate spokesman in the last Cross Rhythms. Choice cuts are "What It Is What It Is (Ain't Nuttin' But The Word)" where our man throws "a peace sign out to all my homies in the hood" and "Spread The Word" which uses a sample from an R&B classic which will continue to drive me mad 'til I can place it and where the syllables come in a stunning, rapid torrent. The effect of the album is dissipated by a mistaken deejay intro cut and a track on the closing where our fave rapper credits everyone involved on the album(!) but the best jams here are phat.
