What do you mean it was 15 years ago? 1976 you say, when the land mark 'Adam Again' LP came out? Cripes! Well one thing's for sure Michael has spent the ensuing years well, gaining musical expertise par excellence, and becoming the epitome of tip top professionalism. He's never been trapped in the Gospel music matchbox, choosing rather to work and learn alongside the big boys when they've come out to play in the real music world. This temporary break from his mainstream commitments finds Omartian in his private Hollywood studio, sharing his insights into Christian truth and his utterly temporary keyboard based music. The wistful "Faithful Forever" opens the album in a pensive introspective mood. The voice is still rich and cool, expressive and commanding, and Michael can still turn out a finely crafted song which is at the same time joyful and moving. The keyboard work, of course continues to be dazzling and majestic. Though the standard's high in all departments none of the songs has the immediate impact that some of the writer's early songs i.e. "Fat City" had, but there are probably some growers lurking here. Quality control maintained throughout.
