Michael's been knocking out the same kind of stuff now for the past decade. Acoustic based, pleasant songs with little to trouble the eardrums. He's used up quite a lot of the 'concept' ideas now so this one is supposed to be all about the cradle and being a child. If you like MC, that is you can't get enough of him, then you'll be alright here, but I'm starting to find his style a little wearing and also a little dated. In fact the best songs on an otherwise uninspiring set this time around are those in which Christine Dente (of Out Of The Grey) takes the lead. In particular, "The Love That I Bear" is beautifully sung and is all about a mother carrying and expressing her love for the unborn child. It's not that this is a poor album, it's just that I'd like to see Michael take a chance and a slight change of direction. Pretty in places, but a little overcast overall.
