Those of you who've been reading Cross Rhythms awhile may remember we once wrote an article about Matt (CR61). Now this troubadour from Florida offers his best album so far, a deft and excellently produced set with crisp pop rock rhythms, to give dynamics to his nimbly picked guitar. Matt's voice is earthily expressive, the songs mainly focus on the tender love of the Father and one song, "Golden Streets", is achingly beautiful, only let down by one line that teeters into cliché (note to all lyric writers: avoid references to God's "nail scarred hand"). If you're after a quality singer/songwriter not hiding his light in obscure metaphores, here's your man.
