Backed by his wonderfully named band The Fabulous Superlatives, this album is obviously a labour of love for this multi-talented country hitmaker. Growing up in Mississippi, Marty was immediately exposed to all sorts of southern music ranging from blues, black gospel, rock and roll and country music. For many years Marty has been a strong Christian, as evidenced here on five strong original songs, such as "Come Into The House Of The Lord", the catchy "The Gospel Story Of Noah's Ark" and the extremely moving "I Can't Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand)". The other five tracks on this extremely good CD are all pulled from black gospel, such as the opener "Somebody Saved Me" and the closer "Slow Train", showing what a musical talent and fine vocalist Marty is. His three-piece guitar-based group provide a backing that drives you into wanting to hear more and Harry Stinson provides wonderful harmony on this superb 2005 album.
