Recorded live around the world and exploding with powerful anthemic live worship, there are those who are saying that this makes the same impact as 'Live And In The Can' from the early days of Delirious? And certainly, it blends intense music and a passionate crowd response to Smith's worship songs. There are so many good songs as he circles the globe and captures special moments. The highlights include "Leap Of Faith" which includes a stunning spoken word piece from Holly Roe which simply explodes and then there are tender gentle moments like the spontaneous song "Chains Falling" which then goes into the beautiful mellow "Song Of Solomon". Similarly a mellow "Ecclesiastes" builds to a fitting close to the album with the crowd joining the chorus of "Now's the time for singing." It's a beautiful, bold ending. Of course there are plenty of upbeat moments too and I love the way that the Singapore version of "God's Great Dance Floor" is propelled along on a fabulous groove and then there's a great version of "Emmanuel". Overall although the comparison with "Live And In The Can" doesn't really hold, this is Martin Smith bringing years of worship experience to show that he can create something which is musically satisfying and spiritually uplifting. And with his band Army Of Bones playing on this set, who are as good a bunch of pop rockers as you'll find anywhere in the mainstream arena, this is an album you can confidently play to Christian and non-Christian music buffs.
