In our earlier years Cross Rhythms was inundated with tapes like this one, where earnest yet decidedly limited singer/songwriters would pass oft their dodgy bedroom demo recordings as troper albums. Standards thankfully have shot up but clearly not in Skipton. A kind of country-tinged pop sound, the melodies here are weak, the sound quality is muffled, the drum box ghastly and dear Martin has a voice a long way short of a quality vocalist. Every now and again the Scriptures on which many of these songs are based shine momentarily through, but this is still a depressingly amateurish effort.
