This collection of stand up routines and parodies of CCM hits by US funny man Mark Lowry warms up only in the second half. The first impression is one of bland humour, irritating remarks and US bias: references to the Discovery channel should come with an explanation for foreigners. This extends to the take off of Amy Grant's "Every Heartbeat" ("Every Teacher") and Michael W Smith's "Place In The World" ("Face In This World") which I doubt I will be able to hear again without a vision of Lowry squirming on an operating table singing about plastic surgery. Things improve when Sandi Patty, luscious-voiced as ever, joins Lowry to sing an amusing take off of "Another Time, Another Place". The best gags turn up in the slot about people who are holy in the mornings, with the inspired idea that "praying at 6am invades Chinese people's time with God". There is a brief evangelistic message at the end, twinned with a surprisingly good song, "This Too Shall Pass", which parodies nothing. Some funny moments, but by and large this is produced with a US audience in mind and will not rest easy with us wary and subtle-humoured Brits.
