One can imagine a bunch of ageing record execs racking their brains to bring new marketing pep to the oldest praise and worship series in Christendom (the first Maranatha Singers album goes back to the early '70s) before coming up with this unwieldy moniker. Presumably, the thinking is that potential purchasers of this album (and the others -'Standing On The Rock' and 'Pure Joy' - in the series) are teenagers who supported the original Jesus Music ala Larry Norman, Love Song et al. If such marketing optimism proves to be well founded, it does demonstrate that today's radicals become tomorrow's comfy slipper nostalgists for there's nothing vaguely revolutionary about this set of worship songs. Instead producer/singer/keyboards man Rob Matthes has assembled an excellent set of musos, some fine session vocalists (including on aural evidence several from California's black churches) and got them singing some above quality songs (a couple by Geoff Bullock, some winsome originals by Mr Matthes) in classic jazz-tinged pop style.
