Reviewed by Steven Whitehead While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this collection the range of material on offer is too narrow to make it a recommended purchase, even if you have a wedding coming up. Five songs, five hymns, 35 minutes; not enough. True, many who want a church wedding now have little idea as to what is available so this collection may trigger some thoughts but there are other far more comprehensive sets available and most of them contain far more information than the scanty notes in the CD booklet. Even the timings would be a useful addition and there is nothing about copyright so we are left wondering whether this disc could be used through the church's PA system in the absence of an organ, choir and/or worship group. For this reviewer the hymns are all well known and none would be out of place in a wedding service: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling", "Blest Be The Tie That Binds", "Praise To The Lord" and "Now Thank We All Our God". The songs are new to me confirming that this is an American collection. Frankly although all are pleasant enough ballads I am left wondering to whom the sentiments are addressed: the bride, the groom, or even God the Father and/or his Son. For the record they are "The Simplest Thought", "Our Love", "Wedding Song (There Is Love)", "More Than Words" and "Our Love. In Christ". As said above, there are many far more useful collections out there for those planning "that 'special' day" and plenty of other better compilations for those that just want to enjoy the music.
