Mandisa Lynn Hindley has, as all her legion of fans will know by now, had a long struggle with food addiction and more recently she has also suffered from depression caused by the death of a close friend, a young mother, from cancer. This set, released in May 2017, marked Mandisa's return to the music scene and pretty impressive it is with at least three songs likely to get you reaching for the repeat button. "We All Bleed The Same" is a well done response to the Black Lives Matter hoo-ha which gripped America last year and the opening and closing prayer from Kirk Franklin is a perfect framework for Mandisa's soulful vocal. Equally effective is the on-point girl power anthem "What You're Worth" which features Britt Nicole. For me the best track of all is "Good News" which is infectious, funky and a much needed proclamation that believers truly have wonderful news to share and live in. Maybe the Deluxe version features one or two slower songs which don't add anything while I found her duet with CCM's Jeremy Camp not particularly interesting. But there's no doubt that Mandisa is still a quality diva who still shows the ability to connect with the painfully divided white and black churches.
