Regular listeners to Cross Rhythms radio’s Rock And Hard Place will know this Swedish band are excellent. With a sound that in part incorporates the sounds of post-hardcore bands Quicksand, the funkier take on hard rock of Rollins Band and a liberal dash of the explosive dynamics of Rage Against The Machine you get some idea of Mammuth’s eclecticism. With an excellent lead singer Daniel Jakobsson, rhythm playing that is magnificently tight and lyrics that go for the jugular with their bold exploration of biblical truth, this is unquestionably one of the outstanding hard music releases of the last year.
