It's been a long wait but finally South Africa's leading exponents of R&B-tinged pop dance rap are back in UK Christian retail! Frontman and producer Steve Rothquell has always shown an uncanny ability to change with the times so like The Tribe, these South African musicianaries have switched their sound to meet the needs of today's pop savvy youth. There are plenty of funky tracks here, the opener has a delicious groove while both "Chill" and "New Day" have some engaging moments. Probably though the best cut is "Pick Yourself Up", a pulsating evocation not to let the enemy beat you up with its memorable chorus "Look at me, can't you see I'm free/This is how it's all supposed to be/Don't you know this is your goal/No matter what it takes/Don't cause your heartbreak." I can imagine such a positive message cutting through playground negativity wherever MIC minister.
