Stripped-down alt country, this envigorating album, the Dogs' second for BEC, was recorded at the Green Room Studios, nearly a year to the day that their fourth member and producer Gene Eugene passed on. The remaining three, Derri Dougherty, Mike Rowe and Terry Taylor, offer a loving evocation of bluegrass, country and old timey roots. Grab those Appalachian harmonies on "The Gates Of Eden" or swoon to the Merl Haggard-style phrasing on the title track. The most focussed Lost Dogs ever, and lovers of alt country should definitely seek this one out.
