This intriguingly named outfit aren't, as their moniker might suggest, a surf band. They are in fact the worship musicians/songwriters serving at Long Hollow Baptist Church outside Nashville, Tennessee. Judging from the audio evidence here - the mass cheering at the end of each track sounding like a baseball game crowd and having four singers/worship leaders (all well above average) sounds like Long Hollow have a few Music City artists who made the church their spiritual home - the church is flourishing. The standout tracks for me are the haunting mid-tempo "Mystery (ftg Justin Greer)" which depicts our God, despite being beyond our understanding, is worthy of our adoration, and "The Name" which has a vocal from Catie Hurst who sounds a bit like one or two current CCM stars. The EDM-sounding title track featuring Brandon Sharp is pretty strong too. This church clearly have the resources of songwriting and singing talent, not to mention the technical/production ability to capture the atmosphere of live worship without everything getting lost in a reverb mush. Recommended.
