'Path Of Dreams' is the Belfast singer's fifth album release to date, though in reality it's a major re-working of her 2010 independent recording 'Pure', the songs having been re-recorded and re-mixed for greater effect. While her music has often been regarded as 'Celtic' on account of her haunting pure vocals, it isn't overtly so. What we're treated to is a stream of self-composed songs (co-written with Paul McIlwaine|) that come over with a fresh inspirational and occasionally soft pop feel. "Holy Rain" and "Frisco"; in particular, appear in upbeat, catchy format. Others carry a gentler, wistful atmosphere. These are uncluttered sounds, allowing Liz's crystal vocals to gain rightful eminence, while the sensitivity and expertise of McIlwaine's instrumental playing on a host of tools, along with his mixing and production skills, add significantly to the overall quality of the recording. These revisited songs of faith, love and life make for a truly refreshing listen.
