Originally hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil this five piece outfit, now based in Florida, produce a melodic form of Oi! punk that references the likes of One Bad Pig and The Old Timers as influences. Having previously released two albums in English, this is their first offering in their native Portuguese and is full of hooky, pop influenced punk. The opening tracks burst out at break neck speed with drums that patter and crash incessantly. Gang vocals create an expansive feel in "N Uo D I Pra Entender" without being too aggressive. There is an old-school feel to these 13 short cuts that is underlined by the edgy vocal delivery of Luis Carlos and melodic choruses as in "Deus De Amor". Production is surprisingly crisp for a band of the streets and the swirling guitar intro to the memorable "Chuva" benefits from a sharpness that stops it becoming washed out. In previous recordings, Living Fire have produced recordings that reflect a positive Christ-centred message, and although this album is in a foreign language, the band's passion and commitment are still clearly evident in the emotional delivery of the music. The album closes with two versions of a more laid back, acoustic sounding, "N Uo Tira Me Do Mundo" which showed the musical versatility of a band that is worth seeking out for a slice of nostalgic, traditional punk music.
