This album is astonishing. Firstly, it's astonishing that so many Christian music heavyweights have been put together on one album. Secondly, the production (courtesy of Mark Heimermann and Chris Harris of Michael W. Smith's touring band) is wild -I'd love to see these guys get hold of Michael - with lashings of inventiveness and echoes of 70s funk giants Funkadelick. Thirdly, there are tracks on here that really are first rate -the clever "Chaperone", the quite staggeringly good "Falling Off If The Face Of The Earth" and the title track are - all prime contenders for mainstream success without compromising lyrical content. Lisa is a canny lass and uses her voice to its best effect by identifying her range and staying within it. However, you have to ask the question, how much of this album is Lisa's? As I've only got a pre-release tape, I can't really answer the question. Still, I shouldn't really gripe when you've got a selection of songs that stand head and shoulders above most of the US Top Twenty. Where do the Americans keep discovering these people - hot funk/pop for Christians who like to party with the Lord.
