First, the credits - produced by Tommy Sims (White Heart, Springsteen) and Charlie Peacock; songs by Sims, Peacock, Phil Madeira and our own Chris Eaton; players including Sims, Peacock, Dan Huff, Jerry MacPherson. What an album I thought this was going to be - no need to review it - just give it "10". But after listening to it, I felt let down. Why? It opens with an excellent track "Sunshine And Joy" and Lisa's vocals cover a number of styles from ballad to gospel ("Don't Keep Heaven") but what wasn't quite right? Over breakfast one morning it" hit me through my son who's into Nirvana and ilk, wanting to know whether this was Amy's new album. And that's the problem with it - Lisa sounds just like Amy (listen to first "Uncloudy Day" with your eyes closed). The album's greatest strength is also it's greatest weakness. A good album, but not a great one and I feel that Lisa doesn't need to try and be Amy MK II.
