With a just right electro pop production from hitmaker Jason Ingram, an expressively close-mic'd vocal from newcomer Lindsay and a memorable song "Say My Name" penned by McCaul and Ingram ("You say my name/And tell me I can walk away/From all my fears and yesterday") the opener is as good as Nashville CCM gets. The other 10 tracks aren't quite as good as that but there's still plenty to keep you engaged. Lindsay has a particularly winning way with story songs. "Take My Hand" portrays Peter endeavouring to walk on water while "If It Leads Me Back" deals with the suffering of Job and his gritty determination to go on trusting God. As the album progresses some of the tracks reveal Lindsay's first love - acoustic pop - and such is the quality of the songwriting and the wistful quality of the singer's voice that they retain their ability to draw the listener in. In this financially troubled age record companies have a tendency to drop artists after one album if it doesn't produce Christian radio hits. Here's hoping the Florida-based singer/songwriter stays around for the long haul.
