This is an interesting one. Lovingly repackaged by Key Records, what we have here is a VERY rough demo recorded by the prolific Mark Krischak and his band The Lifesavors (before Michael Knott took over the leadership of the group) in a California church in 1981. A collection of six short punk tunes, this is contemporary worship music at a very early stage in its gestation. Tracks like "Christianity" and "Take Us Home" owe much to the explosion of punk on both sides of the Atlantic that happened five years previous, and have no less energy than the likes of The Sex Pistols or The Ramones. It's all very raw indeed and the sound quality pretty muddy but it's still a fascinating glimpse of what the Christian rock underground sounded like 31 years ago.
