Any Cross Rhythms listener will already know that there has been a sea change in Lifehouse's musical approach and we've been giving much airplay to the band's track "Between The Raindrops" on which Natasha Bedingfield adds her considerable talent. The band's lead singer Jason Wade summed it up when he said, "We just felt like some sounds needed to evolve. We knew we had to shake things up creatively and go back to the drawing board and try something new. It was a liberating experience." Helped by long-time collaborator producer Jude Cole, Lifehouse have indeed made music which is quite a long way from their "Hanging By A Moment" mega hit. With elements of grunge, pop, blues and some electro rock sounds it's the track "Moveonday" which demonstrates their new approach most effectively while the song "Right Back Home" featuring a wonderful guitar riff from guest Peter Frampton is another gem. Confusingly, the standard version of the album contains a bonus track, "Always Somewhere Close", which isn't on the Deluxe version. You go figure!
