Reviewed by Jamie Hailstone If there are two words which strike fear into the heart of every reviewer who has ever put pen to paper, then they are likely to be the words "concept" and "album". Fortunately, 'Soundtrack Of A Soul' is no ordinary concept album. It is a hard rocking, leather-trousered behemoth of a CD which cranks the amplifier all the way to 12, and beyond! It even starts with a sample from Jack 'School Of Rock' Black - that's how rocking it really is. Like Liberty N'Justice's 2004 release, 'Welcome To The Revolution', this features plenty of guest star names, but the vision of the group's creative genius Justin Murr remains tightly focused. There are 16 (that's right 16!) here - make no mistake this must have been a mammoth task to put together, but the results are all there for the listener to enjoy. The guest vocalist list reads like a who's who of the American rock scene, including Sebastian Bach of Skid Row, Jamie Rowe of Guardian and Mike Lee of Barren Cross. Tracks like "Another Nail" and "Kings Of Hollywood" will get any mosh pit in the world jumping up and down. "Malice In Wonderland", which is sung by Jamie Rowe, is the kind of song best heard in a darkened stadium, lit only by thousands of cigarette lighters. Despite the multitude of guest stars, the tracks all fit together beautifully and will appeal to rockers, both young and old. Quite how Justin Murr can top this remains to be seen - maybe he could get Led Zeppelin to reform and play on his next project.
