As a writer and singer of simple yet deeply thoughtful music, Len Magee was for a good few years one of the most popular gospel singers in Britain. Born in The UK, Len emigrated to Australia as a lad of seven, but came back during the 1970s, and after he became a Christian, he plied his musicianary's craft in the Elim Church and via several albums. He returned Down Under in 1981, and these days he ministers on Queensland's Gold Coast. When, in response to popular demand, his record company decided to make a CD of his original 1970s recordings, no original master tapes were available, so the CD had to be produced from mint condition vinyl records, apart from the title track, which was a recently written song, never before recorded. In fact, so carefully has the remastering been done, there aren't too many snaps, crackles and pops, and the style is typical of its time, easygoing folk/country with Len's light vocals over acoustic instruments and simple arrangements. As for the new song, "Don't Doubt His Love", stylistically it's no different from the others, although naturally the recording quality is miles better. For those of us who remember him first time around, this is a welcome reminder of his talent. Younger listeners may marvel at how simple things were, way back when.

Seems like just yesterday we were rolling down the highway across Canada in our blue 12 passenger van belting out "The Ark" - are you in the ark, or are you outside. This song gave us the theme for our last family holiday across Canada in 1978. We fashioned a tire cover with a dove and even kept a chain letter going amongst family members for a few years titled the Ark notes. This song still sticks in my head and for some reason the Lord brought me to see it again, to remind me of His promises to Get in the Ark with Jesus! Thanks for being a part of so many people's histories. Would love to download the song but the website does not appear to be working right.

I still have 5 or 6 Len Magee albums from the 70's. I loved all the music. The words touched you on every level. I used to sing them regularly. In fact I am singing Nativity in church at Christmas. Nobody seems to know it, but the words are amazing, and I'm sure will be a blessing and a challenge. I pray that people will trust the Lord through it. May god continue to bless you Len, and encourage you. Your music has stood the test of time.

OH MY, I GREW UP AS A YOUNG CHRISTIAN IN GUYANA SINGING LEN MAGEE SONGS AND TO THIS DAY LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES AND PASTORING A CHURCH. I AM AND WAS ALWAYS A BIG BIG LEN FAN. WOULD LOVE TO MEET HIM

I have two LP's of Len Magee and still play them ocasionally, Len has a good voice and his words and tunes are inspired, they always bring a blessing. I heard Len live at St Phillips cathederal in Birmingham UK in the 1970's, he appeared with "Big John Hall" and I remember Len cracking a little joke about David and Goliath, due to Big John's huge stature and Len being a little chap ! It was a great evening with two great singers.
I love "Only a prayer away" and still play it on my guitar and keyboard, I play it in "G". Everyone who hears it thinks it's a great song. Two other favouites of mine are "You can know" and "Walk with Jesus". I wish someone would publish a music and lyrics of Lens songs, they knock spots off many of the so- called "worship" songs of today which are mostly bland and boring.

Len, as a toddler, I remember your soft, rich voice from my father's record player back home in Nigeria. Throughout the years I've never really forgotten those songs in your album 'Love Is The Answer' (although it's been a while since I sang anyone). I'm in my 30s now, my father has gone to be with the Lord, and the albums we had are lost. But for some reason this morning I just woke up to the tune of 'What do you think of Jesus' and I thought of finding out about you and how I could get your songs again (if possible). I'm so grateful to know that your songs are still available. You are a blessing to my life! And just as my father did, I will play again those songs for my 1 year old son, Josh!
