Putting the Kansas City International House Of Prayer singer Laura together with top Nashville producer Brown Bannister was a brilliant idea. Adding Ben Shive (Brandon Heath) to produce a few tracks is another winning combination. So throughout Laura's crystal clear voice and songs which exude personal experience as well as intense devotion to the living God make for a hugely memorable album. Particularly fine is "Beautiful Heart" written for a singer friend who experienced a career-threatening vocal injury, and "Lift Up Your Head" which inspired the album title and is one of the most beautiful songs of comfort heard for many a long year. Laura sings with compassion "Breathe, darling, breathe/It's not yet time for you to leave/Love will have its day/Lift up your head/Turn your face to the rising sun while you wait/While you wait for redemption to come." Other gems are "Brilliant Light", a song that feels like a prayer, and "I Feel His Love" reminding us that an experience of God's love is available to all believers. All in all, this album clearly demonstrates that Misty Edwards isn't the only top rate talent to emerge from the IHOP ministry.
