Most of the comments above concerning 'Liberator' could apply equally well to 'Infiltrator', another solid compilation of less well known songs from the back catalogue which comes out sounding pretty good. 'Infiltrator' also attempts to collect some of Larry's best love songs on one collection too although the two bonus tracks don't really fit the theme that well. Also there is some evidence of this one being rushed out without as much care being taken as other volumes in the Essential series. a few songs have appeared on other volumes in the series and a couple of wrong tracks have crept onto this collection - thus we get the jazzy lounge lizard instrumental mix of "A Woman Of God" featured twice with the extended mix listed on the CD case missing, and a similar fate also greets "Hide His Heart" which makes way for the American edit of "Love Is A Commitment" when the European version of the same song appears a couple of tracks later. This fan would also love to have seen some space on this collection found for either of the epic two studio versions of "That's When Jesus Knew", one of Larry's most ambitious studio recordings. Still, these quibbles aside it's hard to argue with the quality of the songwriting on here and most of the production is good too. One bonus track "Talkin' 'Bout Love" dates from an after show hotel jam which explains its sonic roughness if not its inclusion here.
