This West Wales-based husband and wife duo have released this, their debut EP. Containing six tracks, the sound feels stripped back and uncluttered, but this showcases the amazing instrumental dexterity of Charlie, while the vocal skills of Marie are sublime. 'Salve' manages to avoid the tendency of many stripped down recordings in resembling a demo, instead the duo's vocal and instrumental expertise, and an impressive display of songwriting craft, gives the whole project an organic sound of intimacy. On the opening song "Put On Love", which has now been released as a single, violinist Roybn Welsby adds some tasteful colourings. Other highlights include "Abide" which is a beautiful description of love, as laid out in 1 Corinthians 13, while divine love is explored in "Jesus Washes My Feet". This EP delivers more on repeated plays, making it an extremely worthwhile investment of your time!
