It's a great shame that the pioneering N-Soul label no longer has an outlet in the UK particularly when the albums are as hot as this one. I know Lakita has emerged out of the gorup D'vine but who precisely Lakita consist of is a bit of a mystery. Rapper Lakita Garth gets the cover shot wihle Toyona Holloway, Keith Robertson and Nesi Swan all contribute smouldering lead vocals. An immediate and high octane set of raps with plenty of R&B flavour with standouts being the sassy opener "Make It Right" and the compulsive "Speak To The Hand". Classy, soulful and streetwise music with a hard hitting spiritual message.

Originally reviewed back in CR50, and finally out here, this is energy filled rap laid over smooth R&B backings in a way that oozes class out of your sound system. Check out the tracks "Keep On Praying" and "Ladies Anthem". At variĀous points through the album, Lakila's rapping is augmented by vocals from Toyona Holloway (who gets a front cover credit), and Keith Robertson and Nesi Swan (who don't). What more can I say? This album stands up on the street without compromise in ifs spiritual message.
