A three track single-cum-EP from a three-boys-and-a-girl outfit from Hull who've done some incredible work in Yorkshire schools. I'm pleased to note that three tracks means three different songs, rather than one song and a couple of remixes. The title track is a pop dance item that suffers from a wimpy rap (a touch of the Heavyfoots wouldn't have come amiss) while the rock guitar solo seems mixed too heavy, but which nonetheless is a strong song, based on Billy Graham's favourite Bible verse, John 14:6. Track two, "Sing, Don't Talk" is a laid-back ballad which gets decidedly heavier half-way through, with a synth soundscape backing and a batch of no-nonsense lyrics; and "True Love" is a slab of out-and-out brash 'n' bouncy Britpop. The sleevenote tells that some of the recording took place in the producer's back bedroom, and occasionally it shows. So despite this getting into some mainstream reocord shops it's a project more likely to be bought by school kids who've become Label Of Love fans rather than discerning CCM buffs looking for the best of grassroots Christian music. A fine Christian ministry with a less than fine CD debut.
