Ex-lead singer of Crisis, Mike Salt, makes his solo/duet debut with wife Carolyn. Reminiscent at times of changes which other well-known names have made, such as Weller from Jam to Style Council and back to Weller. Mike's never had a problem with his lyrics - always providing plenty of them and descriptive lingo, but he's been searching for the right musical idiom in which to carry through his work. Decent rhythmic acoustic beat, combined with indian drums creates the backboard for the title track of this 3 track cassette. Mike's voice is made for rock and "True Love" is the best of this set, with a chorus which makes best use of his hard-edged vocals. "Father's House" is an unplugged style strumbeat song. Overall, Mike's not quite found his feet here but it's a reasonable debut. Production wise his voice needs putting upfront in the mix.
