Cross Rhythms has been waiting a long time for an album (and the Youtube vids) like 'Jericho'. Back in the early '90s a team of musical evangelists from Manchester called The World Wide Message Tribe made music which perfectly caught the dance music pop then making the Top 20. Their recordings and the backing tracks gave WWMT the perfect platform to access the schools of greater Manchester, which in turn enabled them to lead thousands of 11 to 16-year-olds into a relationship with the living God. But for various reasons - changes in youth culture tastes, the failure of the Christian record companies to continue to support musical evangelism, changes in WWMT's personnel - The Tribe gradually faded from view. We've now reached 2016 and with today's youth culture dominated by social media, downloading and YouTube everything has changed again. Unfortunately most of the Church hasn't realized this with very few British Christian musicians producing music with the potential to connect with many 11 to 16-year-olds. Now the West Country duo L.E.D.? have delivered an album with the potential to communicate spiritual truth to thousands of school kids around Devon and Cornwall. Earlier releases, the EP 'Just Dance' (2011) and the mini-album 'Flip The Switch' (2013) showed they have the ability to deliver effervescent pop rap but now producer Tim Gosden has brought the creative focus and pop dubstep studio expertise so that songs like "Fire It up" and "Forever" brings Nikki Uglow's brittle voice to a new level as the electronic rhythms pound out their infectious grooves. It's taken a few years for L.E.D.? to finance a youth-relevant album as excellent as 'Jericho'. But now they've achieved it there is no doubt in my mind that this is one of the most important ministry albums of 2015.
