Formed in '98 by ex-Zero Defect Mo Sullivan, Kosher provide an intriguing take on modern rock music. A supergroup of sorts, joining Sullivan are ex- Third Day guitarist Mike Spear, Bev Gough, former Release bass player Andrzej Legierski and drummer Steve Russell (ex-Gethsemane Rose/Bleach (UK)). Melding elements of reggae, jazz and hard rock, Virtual Criminal' is an eclectic musical quilt, very reminiscent of fellow Welsh rockers Dub War. With only three tracks, Virtual Criminal' is a mere insight into a promising band, The title cut immediately stands out, a moody rap core anthem with sufficient originality to make it onto the Cross Rhythms playlist with "Chekoutdavibe" allowing the band's more experimental nature to surface, leaving "Mom" to demonstrate Kosher's ability to do hard rock with the best of them. This taster is a great start from a band we'll be hearing a lot more from.
