Here is an artist that may have a debut record, but isn't new to the reggae music scene. Britain's Kingsley Wray has been playing and singing with bands for years and has now created his debut album released on independent gospel label Water 2 Wine. He has grabbed all the reggae groove essentials and created an old school reggae album with a strong Gospel message. Everything is here, the syncopated keyboards and guitar, the horns and all the flavour of the islands that leave you thinking of the sun and sand. Wray delivers a clear Gospel message, which is especially reflected in the title track and elsewhere. Production wise, the simple musicianship and arrangements mean that the album is lacking some of those unique qualities that could give the album more originality. The album has a strong clear message and mainly catchy songs with Wray acquitting himself vocally. It's just missing that little spark to make it a great album.
