This DVD is a live performance of Ken's 'Great Things' album that was released in 2008 and is a joint project between five churches of different denominations. Ken states that he feels God has called him to build bridges between both churches and races, and it is very noticeable when watching that it is no black gospel project - this is a whole-church gospel project! The first thing to comment on is the sheer infectiousness of the people involved - they look as if they are truly enjoying the presence of God, and instead of coming over as a concert performance the event is much more worshipful. Ken states that his aim with this project was to write and produce songs that could be classed as "high praise", uplifting and encouraging, to show something of the presence of God, and this certainly comes over in the nine songs presented. There is a real spirit of joy and fun in the worship and Ken summarises in one of his interviews: "I just enjoy the presence of God," going on to reassure the viewer that "although in the Bible David danced right out of his clothes, I can guarantee I'm not gonna be doing that!" The musical style is at times reminiscent of the likes of Earth Wind & Fire in the '70s. The band and brass section are virtually flawless, tight and perfectly together, and from a visual perspective the cameras present some interesting angles as their jibs fly around the auditorium. The bonus features on the disc include some interview material with Ken and other musicians as well as the background to some of the songs. A well presented DVD of an excellent event.
