For you out there in music land Keith Green was a modern day prophet who in our eyes was taken before his time. He was only 28 when he went to the Master's house with two of his four children. He died in July 1982 in a tragic plane crash with Josiah aged 3 and Bethany aged 2. Keith's main aim in life was to bring people closer to God. This he did through his music ministry and which The Early Years' gives us a taste of. The Early Years' is a collection of 10 songs from three of his albums, 'No Compromise', 'So You Wanna Go Back To Egypt' and the worship classic 'Songs For The Shepherd'. There is not much you can gripe about this best of - apart from two things. 1. It would be nice if Sparrow printed a mini biography about the man who was willing to be used for an instrument for God's work and who was always striving to be closer to God. This can be seen in the selection of the songs, "I Want To Be Like Jesus", "To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice" to the praise worthy "Oh Lord You're Beautiful" to the now classic "There Is A Redeemer" Keith Green may have been on this earth for a limited period but in that short time he has left us a legacy in his music and also through the written word. The Early Years' is a moving sampler of his musical works. So do yourself a favour and go and buy this at £5.99 on CD and £4.99 on cassette.

I hadn't seen much of Keith's classic stuff on cd; then I saw this cd:luv it! Many top ccm artists released an "Early Years" cd; to include Twila Paris, Michael Card, Margaret Becker (to name some):there are so many more! 5 songs from "No Compromise", 3 from "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt", and 2 from " Songs for the Shepherd". "Oh, LORD, YOU'RE Beautiful" and "I Want To Be More Like JESUS" are 2 of my top fave songs; great classic ccm heard on this cd! I love Kelly Willards added vocals to "I Want To Be More Like JESUS". "How Can They Live Without JESUS" a great hi-light from "No Compromise". "There is a Redeemer" was written by his wife Melody; it is such a written piece of beauty, thank you Melody. Keith sings with such passion in his voice; the starter song "Asleep in the Light" is a great example of this.
We are still blessed by Keith's music! GOD Bless!-Don
