A departure for the popular Greenbelt tourists known for their solid indie rock -reflective, meditational, post-modern pop a la MSPs/Blur/Stereophonics but without the distortion! Catchy tunes combine with an ambient, almost melanĀcholic feel courtesy mix meisters Tony Silcock (Psalmistry) and Dan Bowater (S'dance). If there's one thing I'd have hoped for more of it's Mike Simpson's (ex-Eden Burning) live drumming - most of the rhythm is electronic. The song "My Imaginary Friend" is one that will please the minor chord fanatics - it reminded me of a track by Eric Champion called "Temptannie" - but that's another subject altogether! "Turn off the lights, lie down and enjoy our home movie" the liner notes suggest. I did! The sound track was most relaxing but I guess the imagery takes a bit more effort! Don't get me wrong, it's all there but if you're anything like me you'll need at least four sessions to get things in focus! Lyrics not provided but Keith's voice is so clear and open it won't take long to convert your humming into singing! Well worth supporting these guys and they do a great fanzine!
