Regular Cross Rhythms readers will remember when we featured this LA-based diva a year after her fine 'Changing Places' was released. Now she's returned with another scorching set. The tracks are full of urban sass, the hooks are often memorable and though the message of the lyrics seldom goes beyond truths like "God loves you" (on the opener) and "God is good" (on the appropriately titled "God Is Good"), June sings with such unbridled passion that the message bites through with utter authenticity. June though is no one-trick pony. When not pitching God messages at the R&B market she's delivering a piece of delicious soul on "A Better place" which will have old school soul fans rueing the day that hip-hop ever came to pass. Throughout this set, June's vocals are never less than flawless and we can but hope that such talent is rewarded with big sales.
